The epitome of human connection is to be understood.
Without understanding, human relationships can fall apart even quicker than they came to be. You’re so blinded by what you think is right and wrong that you fail to see. You’re blind to me because you can’t see why I am the way I am or why I think the way I think. Instead, you ask for change—an unspoken apology for daring to think differently than you. People allow themselves to be vulnerable—not to constantly be criticized, nor to gather pity and sorrow, nor to be awarded a medallion for their suffering.
But to be understood.
Because to be understood is to be seen.
